I’m Chaki Kobayashi, born April 10, 1984, in Tokyo, Japan. From 1988 to the present, I have lived in and loved the USA, having spent years in Florida, Connecticut, and New Hampshire.
Starting in 2006 after graduating college, I worked a few different corporate jobs until I decided to quit September 2013. I didn’t want to be stuck in an office doing boring shit anymore. I’m currently struggling to make a living on my own, but as I see it, it’s just a matter of time. I’m certainly enjoying the ride. This page will be updated by the end of the year or sooner to remove the “struggling” bit above.
I hope you’ll follow along with me on this journey here.
Update 2/26/15: Last month I made more money than I ever did working a “real” job, and at this point, the sky is the limit, so things are looking up. I did this on my own terms with the freedom to take a day or a week off on a whim, which is exactly what my intention was when I quit working 9/2013.
Update 2-9-17: In 2015 I made more money than I’d ever made in a regular job. I finally achieved what I’d dreamed of all those days in my corporate office, reading about people who were free of the world in which most of us are told, and therefore believe we must live. And in 2016 I more than doubled 2015’s profits. Although I continue to dream so big that it’s almost embarrassing to discuss, I often reflect on where I am now, how free I am, and how much better life is now than it ever was while I was doing what I believed for so long I was supposed to do. I am free to travel when and where I want, to work as much or little as I want, and free to pursue my true passions in life. As of today, writing and photography have taken a back seat to my business endeavors, but I hope soon to be updating this website regularly again.
I’m fascinated with life and why we’re here at all, and love finding interesting ways to excel in this particular physical reality. The answers are coming to me quickly and hopefully, in the future, I will relay them all and more to you, you sexy thing 😉
In the meantime, be patient. I’m becoming a better writer every day and have plans for several books I will publish over the next 150-2,000 years.
The things in life I love most are golf, playing the flute, hiking and anything outdoors, fishing, lifting weights, billiards, poker, photography, traveling, reading, and writing. Any day spent doing any of those things is a super day in my book.
This is beginning to sound like an online dating profile.
Here are a few pics so you can put a face to the words:
