After my morning breathwork routine, which is something I love doing outdoors this time of year under the early morning sun, I repeated a mantra I’d heard that resonated with me:
“Universe, show me how good it gets to be.”
I repeated it a few times and felt my consciousness shift to match the vibe, becoming more aware, more present, more perceptive, more expansive. Waiting to see what I would be shown, how good it gets to be, this life.
A flicker of movement caught my eye. A fat bumblebee buzzing from flower to flower. Right now my yard is full of tall white clover, tiny little unassuming white flowers we wouldn’t necessarily consider beautiful, but the bees really love them.
As the bee landed on each flower, a little puff of pollen came off and was lit up by the sun. Little powdery bursts, over and over. I’d never seen that in my entire life despite having watched hundreds of bees land on white clovers.
Even without the pollen, it’s really amusing to watch bumblebees land on these tall spindly flowers because the weight of the bees usually bends the flower stalks over. The bees land, they swing down toward the ground, then they alight and the flower pops back upright, over and over. It has made me laugh out loud many times before. The bees are playing with their food.
But this day, it got even better. Each landing with a little puff of white pollen lit up by the sunlight, which was at the perfect angle otherwise I could never have seen it.
I said, “Thank you, that is truly awesome.” And I meant it. But then I added, “But I know it gets even better than that. Show me, really show me how good it gets to be…“
And now I wait.
